During the course, we will explore essential steps and creative processes, from script development to casting and location scouting. Whether you're an aspiring filmmaker or a seasoned professional, this session promises to enhance your skills and deepen your understanding of this crucial planning phase in filmmaking.

Meet The Instructor
Kimberly Raybon is a seasoned industry professional with a rich tapestry of over two decades in the entertainment realm. Born in Kankakee, Illinois, her passion for the world of movies, television, and music began early on. In 1984, Kimberly relocated to Decatur, Georgia, and graduated from Columbia High School in 1988. Her academic journey led her to Morris Brown College initially, with a later transfer to Georgia State University in 1990.

It was during her time at Georgia State University that Kimberly's creative spark ignited at the campus television station, GSTV. This pivotal experience set her on a trajectory toward an entertainment career. Specializing in Production Management, Kimberly has lent her expertise to renowned companies such as TBS, BET, TVOne, MTV, Bounce TV, Tyler Perry Studios, and REVOLT TV.

Currently, as the Founder and CEO of The MIK Media Group, Kimberly leads a consultancy company that offers comprehensive services to support film production and various forms of media. Her extensive portfolio includes notable projects, showcasing her versatile skill set Michelle Obama X Revolt - Assistant Director, CAMP X Disney (Little Mermaid) - Production Coordinator, REVOLT Black News - Assistant Director, Essence Holiday Special - Assistant Director, and Dr. Sanja Gupta - Assistant Director & COVID Compliance Officer.

Kimberly is currently the Founder and CEO of The MIK Media Group, a company that provides consultancy and services to support film production and other forms of media.

  1. This was my first time attending an event with the Black Entertainment Economic Council, but it won't be my last. Alot of wonderful and needed information shared and some cool people who were willing to network and share information.
