Chet Brewster, fueled by a passion for filmmaking since the age of seven, has spent over three decades making his mark in the entertainment industry. A graduate of Emerson College in Boston, Chet wasted no time launching his career, securing a position with CNN just a week after graduating.
His journey continued with the establishment of his production company, DavenStar 1 Entertainment. Over the years, Chet has become a seasoned professional, showcasing his talents in directing, producing, and editing for a diverse array of projects, including film, television, live events, and live-to-tape productions.
Chet's impressive portfolio boasts notable credits, including the groundbreaking "The Kings of Comedy Tour and Movie," the first nine Tyler Perry stage play DVDs, and Keith Sweat's inaugural live concert DVD. His work extends to a 3-time award-winning comedy special, "Paul Mooney, The Godfather of Comedy aka A Piece of My Mind," featured on Showtime, Hulu, and Netflix.
Not limiting himself to a specific niche, Chet has contributed technically and directorially to numerous TV specials and award shows across platforms like Showtime, BET, TBS, Bounce TV, Gospel Music Channel, Up TV, PBS, and TV One. Recent projects include directing the Midwest Regional Emmy Awards, overseeing Season 2 of "The Rickey Smiley Show" - TV sitcom, and serving as a multi-cam director for Seasons 5 and 6 of "Verses and Flow."
Chet's directorial prowess is further evident in his work on the 2015 and 2016 McDonald’s 365 Black Awards show, aired on BET, and "Centric presents The Bronner Brothers Hair Battle" hosted by Tamar Braxton. His versatile skill set extends to talk shows, reality show reunions, and even fundraising events, such as The Ron Clark Academy 10th Anniversary, where he played a pivotal role alongside Oprah Winfrey's historic $5 million donation.
Currently, Chet is directing his focus toward nurturing actors in various short films, with plans to venture into full-length feature films. His recent projects, include "Hussie," "5 Steps to Get Over Your Ex," and "Soul Ties."
Chet has also directed and executive produced films such as "Louisiana 1961" and "La Vie Magnifique de Charlie," both having graced the screens at the Peachtree Village International Film Festival.
